Description
As a store manager you will be expected to control all aspects of your store including recruiting, hiring, training, customer service, visual merchandising, health and safety and store operations and above all maximising sales and profit. While taking a ‘hands on’ approach you will be enthusiastic, able to work on your own initiative and demonstrate flexibility in your role. You will be an excellent motivator for your team and ensure they maximise sales and deliver excellent customer service.Duties and Responsibilities§ Maximising sales and able to encourage ‘upselling’.§ Managing staffing levels effectively.§ Effective recruitment and selection.§ Training and coaching your team, ensuring a high standard of performance, contribution and customer service.§ Controlling costs and minimising waste.§ Key holder duties and arranging shift cover 365 days till 10pm .§ Controlling and replenishing stock levels.§ Implementing marketing and merchandising initiatives in line with company standards.§ Maintaining security within the store according to Company procedures.§ Ensuring that all store standards including customer service, health and safety, and food and hygiene are maintained.§ To ensure legal compliance according to policies and procedures.§ To maintain company administration in accordance with existing procedures.Candidate profile: § Proven success in a managerial or supervisory role.§ To be highly disciplined and capable of managing people.§ Able to interpret store reports and manage company administration.§ To be flexible, enthusiastic and able to work on own initiative.§ To have strong leadership, communication and multitasking skills.§ Positive attitude when dealing with difficult or unexpected situations.Required experience: Management or minimum previous supervisory role in retail, (convenience retail an advantage.)
