Description
For sale..... a Hand painted and waxed Chest of 2 drawers from the late 1950's made by C.W.S. of Birmingham.
Bought from an auction recently this piece was probably a dresser initially with a mirror, this has been removed or broken on the years and left as a chest of drawers. Real wood not MDF or similar, has lovely dovetail joints and period handles to the drawers.
Lightly sanded, given a primer then 2 coats of a pretty lilac matt finish paint which was left overnight then rubbed lightly with steel wool to leave an aged / shabby look.
Finally 2 coats of Rustoleum Finish Wax was applied, not a varnish finish.
Dimensions approx: 30" width, 17" depth and 31" tall.
Please note: This is a USED item so may have signs of wear and tear however I will list any that would be considered major. I often use chalk effect paints that may continue to wear and use paint techniques to create an aged patina rather than a sleek and glossy finish. This effect is intended so if you are looking for the latter, this item may not be suitable. Any decorative items used are not included in the sale. Most items are sourced from local charities including my painting supplies. Collection available although I can usually deliver most items for free in the Hull area, please ask for details. Also advertised elsewhere.
