Description
Attractive large antique pitch pine glazed four door gun display cabinet.
A lovely large antique victorian pitch pine gun cabinet. We date this cabinet to the late 19th century.
The cabinet is supplied as a single section, so please ensure adequate space for delivery through hallways, around corners etc.
The cabinet sits on a plain plinth base.
The front of the cabinet is of four panel design with each panel being a side hinged door. The central doors are glazed with single glass panes and the two outer doors have an attractive diamond shaped panelled design.
The centre right hand door and the two outer doors are fitted with working locks (keys supplied). The centre left hand door is secured with side mounted top and bottom lever bolts.
The interior of the central area has been lined some time ago with green baize and has cutouts at the base for the stocks and a top mounted board to position the guns.
The outer left hand cupboard has various hooks at the top and a later added rail in the centre.
The outer right hand cupboard has a lovely bank of eight small pitch pine linen press style drawers.
The top of the cabinet has a decorative pine moulding to each top corner.
The cabinet has a height of 57" (145cm), a width of 65.5" (166cm) and a depth of 10.5" (27cm).
This lovely antique pine cabinet remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage. These include a number of usage marks and indentations from past use. The green baize is showing an amount of wear.
This remains a very stylish antique pine cabinet. It could also be used as a large bookcase or such if desired. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
