VW Transporter T5 - 300+ bhp, 550 lb ft - modified
£12.500
Description
Ok, since I can't seem to sell my other T5, it looks like I'll need to sell the T5 I bought to replace it as I need the space on the driveway...
T5 30 2005 with a low 84K miles.
Factory Combi with the all important M1 stamp on the V5 document so you can legally drive at the full speed limits on all UK roads.
Van is HPI and Finance clear.
3 owners.
Full electric pack from the factory, electric windows, mirrors, AC, central locking, traction control, outside temperature etc, 6 speed box. Top of the range VW Passat steering wheel with controls on the wheel (original steering wheel also included).
SPA dual Boost and EGT gauge in drivers vent, this is a £250 gauge + sensors and fitting.
Captain seats up front and 2+1 removable rear seats with auto leathers covers (a bit worn and could do with replacing if being picky) with sliding side windows and tailgate so no "T5 Crack" issues with barn doors.
Fully sound deadened and insulated.
Touch screen car computer built into dash along with a front and internal CCTV camera (not currently hooked up to any recording device but all the cabling is in place hidden discreetly under the drivers seat.
22” led drop down dvd play in the rear.
Blu-tooth up front.
Painted Audi Ice silver, so much nicer than the standard Reflex silver T5s. Wheels and roof painted Audi Off-road grey.
Bodywork - Caravelle front-end - bumper, head lights etc along with genuine VW sportline plastic spoiler. Side bars etc.
Face lift 5.1 wing mirrors which fold up electronically when the van is locked.
Wheels - Very rare Mercedes Lorinser D93 (made by Ronal) 20” 9.5j 5x120 alloys. 295/30 rear and 265/30 fronts all matching Michelin. I cannot find any of these wheels for sale in this country and the only ones I have found are in the states for over $3000 a set. Could do with a refurb if being fussy - not badly kerbed but paint has chipped off in a few places.
Suspension - coil-overs so you can go nice and low but still have comfort since the springs and shocks are matched properly. Have raised it up an inch since the pics were taken to make it a bit more practical.
Uprated anti roll bars, Rose joint drop links and polybushed.
Brakes - big disk conversion up front - 360 mm Range Rover sport drilled and grooved disks (so cheap and easy to come by should they need replacing), matched to big 6 pot calipers. Adapters fitted so transporter wheels stud pattern still retained.
Now for the good bit - which makes this van stand out from all others - the engine...
Was dyno'd by Pendal at 305 bhp, 550 lb ft of torque! One of the most powerful T5 diesels in the country - ultra reliable, has been making this for 1.5 years - drives really nicely, no overheating and better fuel economy than the standard van when driven carefully - I can easily achieve 40 MPG.
With some head work and further engine mapping this van will easily reach 350 BHP \ 600 lb ft should the new owner want it - the turbo is rated to past that and it has been built to handle this reliably.
Engine 2.5 litre.
Uprated engine mounts.
GTB2566Vk turbo with billet compressor wheel supplied and fitted by Darkside Developments.
Darkside Developments tubular manifold - a real work of art!
Darkside Developments hard line pipework kit and Silicon engine and boost hoses.
Full 3” exhaust system from turbo back - sounds really nice - not loud, but purposeful.
Full EGR system has been removed and everything has been port matched and polished.
Custom built front mounted intercooler - bigger than any available off-the shelf setup.
Water Injection (no longer active but still plumbed in since the FMIC is so efficient) - runs nice and cool even on a hot day stuck in traffic.
150% bigger injectors.
Uprated heavy duty driveshafts (not like the standard ones).
Mapped by Pendle Performance - spent a week on their rollers being set up properly.
Last week, just spent £2600 on a full gear box rebuild (all bearings, syncros etc all replaced and filled with fully synthetic gear box oil), new uprated Darkside Developments paddle clutch, pressure plate and flywheel (£870). Receipts available for all of this and a years guarantee with it).
Also included in the sale if the price is right... a custom commissioned one-off solid alloy billet flywheel and matching heavy duty paddle clutch and pressure plate to enable the van to be run safely with more power - the flywheel alone cost over £700.
Probably a load of other small modifications I've forgotten.
Note: The private plate has been removed and it's back on it's original plate.
There is easily in excess of £10K of modifications on this van. It drives great. Only difference other than the performance is the clutch is a bit sharper and heavier due to being a paddle clutch. It drives nice in traffic and pottering around town, flies on the open road, corners and stops well.
Looking for £12500 - which I think is good value for whats been done.
Located in the North of Scotland (30 miles South East of Inverness). I can pick up a potential buyer from Inverness Airport or Aviemore railway station.
Please, please, please, no time wasters. Only contact me if you are a genuinely interested potential buyer. I'm not looking for a part-ex as I already have two other vehicles.
