Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self starting individual with supervisory experience in a production or manufacturing environment to work at our expanding firewood business in Oxton.
You will be working in a production facility over-seeing a team of three ensuring the products are manufactured to our high quality standards and within the agreed time frames.
Duties include:
• Study work orders to determine requirements.
• Determine product specifications, materials, work methods and machine setup.
• Adjust machine tables or cutting devices and set controls on machines to produce specified operations.
• Start machines.
• Feed stock, e.g. through feed mechanisms or conveyors.
• Monitor operation of machines and make adjustments.
• Monitor production process continuously to maintain quality avoid damage to machinery
• Detect rot, splits and other defects in wood and finished products.
• Check quality, packaging, packers and stacking of products.
• Adjust, clean, repair and replace machine parts.
• Record production details and report machine or production faults.
• Comply with Health and Safety
• Ensure machines and surrounding areas are clean and tidy at the end of shift
You will also be monitoring, coaching and guiding the team, instilling passion and making sure deadlines are met
You must have previous experience planning the work of a production function and able to happily complete administrative tasks.
Training on all machinery and processes will be provided for the successful candidate.
